About

Who am I

Hey there! I’m Yagnya Prasad, a UX Design Lead, storyteller, and dreamer from the misty hills of Daringbadi, Odisha which lovingly called “The Kashmir of Odisha.” Growing up around amid fog-kissed mornings, tall pines, and quiet rhythm of nature, I learned one timeless lesson — everything around us communicates, even in silence.

That belief eventually shaped my philosophy as a designer which says, design is a conversation, not decoration. It’s about how people feel, react, and connect with what we create. It’s about creating experiences that feel effortless, intuitive, and human. Over the years, I’ve realized that the most beautiful designs are about crafting moments that make people pause and say, “Yes, this just feels right.”

Over the past decade, I’ve been fortunate to live that philosophy through my work. Designing for people, not just screens.

My Professional Journey

My story began in a small town where simplicity is a way of life. I was endlessly curious, sketching, observing people, and exploring how things worked beneath the surface. That curiosity led me to pursue Electronics & Communication Engineering at BPUT, Rourkela, where I learned how systems talk to each other.

But while understanding the logic of circuits, my heart was drawn toward creativity. I wanted to build things that people could feel, not just use. That led me to earn a Certification in Web Designing from Pixxel Arts Animation Academy in Hyderabad, where I discovered the world of User Experience Design. That was the turning point, where I realized that my love for systems, creativity, and human behaviour could co-exist beautifully through design, which not only look beautiful but also worked beautifully.

That blend of logic and creativity became my compass, leading me toward a career in UX design.

My professional path has been both exciting and transformative. A vibrant mix of learning, experimentation, and growth. With over 10 years of experience, I’ve worked across industries like healthcare, EdTech, business management, e-commerce, travel, and marketing. Each one taught me a new language of empathy and something new about people, their motivations, frustrations, and the subtle ways they interact with technology.

Today, I am a lead UX design at Harman Connected Services for Medtronic’s Endoscopy division, where I’m driving the UX vision for the endoscopy automation.

These projects involve creating an automated user-centric mobile, desktop and web application ecosystem that empowers patients to effectively record their gastrointestinal symptoms and the health care providers to retrieve and analyse those data. The app will integrate with a wearable device that transmits real-time data from an implanted esophageal capsule via Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) technology.

As a UX/UI designer, my role involves creating cohesive ecosystems across mobile, desktop, and cloud, collaborating with researchers, engineers, and product managers to turn the existing complex workflows into intuitive experiences in an agile product development environment.

Before this, I designed experiences for Microsoft (via Accenture), Zemoso Technologies, Dotcom Weavers, and Convergence Labs. Each role helped me evolve from a visual designer into a strategic design leader, shaping my understanding of collaboration, accessibility, and large-scale product ecosystems.

As a UX design lead, I believe in co-creation and bringing together designers, engineers, and stakeholders to shape solutions that serve both people and purpose.

For me, design leadership is about building trust, nurturing creativity, and guiding teams with empathy, questioning assumptions, and to see problems not as obstacles but as opportunities for innovation at every step.

Every challenge I’ve faced has re-affirmed one truth - “Great design is not about perfection, it’s a culture of purpose, empathy, and problem-solving.”

My Specialization as a UI/UX Lead

I specialize in UX strategy, and design leadership, with a strong focus on accessibility (WCAG) and AI-assisted design. My passion lies in designing experiences that scale both in usability and in impact.

I’ve built design systems in Figma, led A/B testing and usability studies, and collaborated across multi-disciplinary teams to ensure every design decision is meaningful. My creative toolkit includes Figma, Miro, Notion, and Adobe Creative Suite, but I always remind my team that tools are only as good as the intent behind them.

But beyond tools, what drives me is storytelling, whether it’s through user flows, prototypes, or presentations, I aim to tell a story that connects the user’s need with the business goal in the most seamless way possible.

Why me?

With over 10 years of experience in UX and UI design, I’ve helped organizations transform complex systems into intuitive, human centered experiences. I believe every design should have a purpose, whether it’s improving a workflow, helping users feel more in control, or enabling business teams to make faster, informed decisions.

My expected responibilities can be:

  • End-to-end Ownership
  • Cross-functional Collaboration
  • Data-informed Decisions
  • Accessible & Inclusive Design

What sets me apart isn’t just design expertise but the way I connect technology, and strategy to craft designs that drive both user satisfaction and organizational success

My Hobbies & Interests

Beyond the digital world, I’m a person of many passions. I’m a fiction writer, photographer, and fish keeper, and a passionate traveller. All of these connect back to my love for observing life in its smallest details. Writing helps me explore human emotions, photography helps me frame beauty in stillness, and maintaining an aquarium teaches me patience and care.

And then there’s a part of me that’s forever grateful for my athletic past. I was an athlete in school, winning the “Champion of the Year” title seven times in a row. Those years taught me discipline, focus, and persistence. The lessons that now shape how I approach design challenges and leadership alike.

If there’s one thing that fuels my creativity beyond design, it’s travel. I’ve always believed that travel is the purest form of learning. It humbles you, widens your perspective, and helps you understand human behaviour beyond cultures and boundaries.

Whether I’m wandering through ancient temples and historic places, hiking through quiet hill trails, or simply exploring hidden cafés in a new city, I find stories everywhere. Travel reminds me that every experience, big or small, shapes how we see the world, and as a designer, that awareness helps me design for real people, not personas on paper.

Let's create something amazing together!
